Get involved

As well as becoming a member, there are lots of other ways you can get involved with the SSI.

Join the SSI Stakeholder Advisory Group

The Stakeholder Advisory Group (SAG), an integral part of the SSI Governance, represents diverse non-industry perspectives and will advise the SSI Board on various topics, ensuring a holistic approach to decision-making. SAG members may also participate in SSI technical working groups.

Individuals from the following sectors are encouraged to apply to the Stakeholder Advisory Group:

  • Civil society, such as human rights and environmental NGOs
  • Intergovernmental organisations
  • Academia
  • Research organisations
  • Development finance institutions (DFIs)
  • Independent experts
  • Other relevant non-industry stakeholders

The SSI Board appoints members based on eligibility criteria, including balanced representation and relevant experience. Contact us to express your interest in joining the SAG.

Join as an Assessment Body

Certification Bodies and Conformity Assessment Bodies with a global reach and that meet the requirements of the SSI can apply to become Assessment Bodies of the SSI. Assessment Bodies play an integral role in the SSI by conducting independent, third-party audits. To find out more, please visit our Assessors page.

Join as a Consulting Company

Consultants can apply to be listed on the SSI website to support SSI Members seeking advice in understanding and meeting the requirements of the SSI Standards, and to help prepare for the assessments. Although listed on the SSI website, the SSI does not endorse nor guarantee the services provided by consultants. To express your interest in being listed as a Consultant for the SSI, please contact the Secretariat.
