In March, the Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI) had the opportunity to contribute to the Roundtable on Advancing India’s Solar Frontier organized by @NSEFI – National Solar Energy Federation of India, the UK High Commission India, and the UK Government.
☀️ With one of the world’s most ambitious manufacturing expansion programmes, India is building capacity across modules, cells, and upstream manufacturing—strengthening energy security while positioning itself as a global supplier. As this growth accelerates, ensuring that solar supply chains are responsible and transparent is critical.
💡 At the roundtable, @Rachel Owens, CEO of the SSI, shared insights on how the SSI can support responsible upscaling of solar by setting solar-specific standards, commissioning independent third-party audits, and strengthening supply chain traceability.
🤝 As SSI continues to grow, we are excited to deepen our engagement in India. With our new Asia Lead, this marks an important next step for the initiative as we build partnerships on the ground and support the next phase of responsible solar leadership.
