The Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI) has published its first annual report.
Covering SSI’s first full year of operation in 2025, the Report provides a transparent overview of how the SSI ESG and Supply Chain Traceability Standards are being applied in practice.
During the year, the SSI brought together 55 member companies, including 18 manufacturers and 37 buyers, and delivered 22 ESG site assessments and six supply‑chain traceability assessments through independent third‑party verification.
By the end of 2025, SSI ESG-certified manufacturing sites represented more than 110 GW of solar module production capacity.
The Report highlights early lessons from implementation, documents SSI’s engagement with policymakers, financial institutions, industry and civil society, and sets out clear priorities for scaling responsibly in 2026.
This first annual report represents a key step in openly sharing progress, challenges and learning as the solar sector responds to rising expectations around responsible production, traceability and due diligence.
