The Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI) is pleased to announce a senior appointment as Julija Menise takes up the role of Head of Standards and Assurance. Julija’s appointment further strengthens SSI’s capacity to develop and implement credible standards, assurance, and traceability programmes that support responsible production, enhance transparency, and help companies demonstrate alignment with evolving sustainability and due diligence expectations.
As Head of Standards & Assurance, Julija will lead the continued development and implementation of SSI’s Standards and Assurance Programme, supporting their credibility, robustness and impact.
Having already been an integral part of the SSI team, Julija now steps into a new position, bringing more than 20 years of international experience in sustainability, responsible sourcing, human rights due diligence and assurance. Throughout her career, Julija has worked across mining and minerals, manufacturing and renewable energy supply chains, combining extensive on-the-ground experience with the development of sustainability standards, assurance systems and traceability frameworks. She has worked across more than 40 countries and with companies, financial institutions, civil society, and international multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Commenting on her appointment, Julija said: “The SSI brings stakeholders together to drive meaningful improvements in responsible sourcing and supply chain transparency. I’m excited to help further strengthen our standards, assurance, and traceability programmes to support that mission.”
